During the third quarter of 2022, the top 5 navigation and maps applications in Russia demonstrated diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

Yandex Maps and Navigator experienced a steady decline in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $5.9K at the end of June and dropping to about $4.2K by the end of September. Weekly downloads showed moderate fluctuations, peaking at around 254K in late August before settling at approximately 193K by the end of the quarter. Active users saw a slight increase in August, peaking at over 11M, before declining to around 10.8M by late September.

2GIS: Offline map & navigation saw consistent weekly downloads, ranging from around 157K to 197K, with a notable peak in late August. Active users showed a gradual increase, reaching about 6.3M by the end of August before slightly declining to approximately 5.8M by the end of September.

Yandex Navigator had a relatively stable revenue stream, starting at approximately $17.9K in late June and ending at about $14.4K by the end of September. Weekly downloads remained steady, fluctuating between 144K and 178K throughout the quarter. Active users, however, showed a declining trend, starting at around 4.5M and dropping to approximately 3.8M by late September.

Google Maps maintained stable weekly downloads, ranging from around 36K to 44K. Active users initially increased to approximately 5.2M in early July, then gradually declined to around 4.5M by the end of September.
